What’s in a Rose?

…Roses and their meanings

The rose tells of the heart within
and speaks what we can’t say–

The {yellow} rose
of friendship says,
“Thinking of you today!”

The sweet {pink} rose
portends romance,
the purr-fect Valentine.

The {orange} rose
hold passions there,
and begs, “Your lips and mine?”

To your one and only love,
confess with a {red} rose.
Take your time and write a note,
Indelibly by hand.

{Deep burgundy}
says, “I will love you ’til
the clock is lost in sand.

The virgin’s rose
is purest {white};
grasp her… if you can.

Fresh {cream} roses
are for thoughtfulness;
my sister’s favorite flower.

A {purple} rose
is never shy—
reserved for passion’s hour.

{Lavender} blooms
are more demure,
enchanting night or day.

If a {black} rose comes to you,
a love has gone away.
